Hydro Thrusters: Enhancing Drilling Efficiency and Fluid Circulation

Hydro Thrusters are advanced downhole tools that use their own vibration to drive the BHA, generating both axial and radial vibrations. These vibrations transform static friction into dynamic friction, reducing drag and improving the effectiveness of weight transmission to bit while minimizing the friction between the BHA and the wellbore. This helps to improve weight transfer, alleviate or eliminate issues such as stick-slip vibrations, torsional vibrations, non-continuous weight on bit, unstable tool face, and pipe stuck. By enhancing fluid circulation, Hydro Thrusters prevent the accumulation of cuttings or debris in the wellbore, thereby improving drilling performance. These tools are crucial in challenging drilling environments, maintaining efficient flow of drilling fluid.

As the number of high-inclination wells increases and horizontal displacements continue to extend, drilling operations face greater challenges. The Hydro Thruster solves these problems in a simple and effective way. It stabilizes the transmission of weight to bit, even in formations with severe well trajectory changes in azimuth, enhancing the ability to adjust the tool face. This enables drilling to reach deeper target zones, requiring less adjustment to the tool face and ensuring stable operation, thus improving rate of penetration (ROP).

FSL's Hydro Thrusters are designed for high durability and reliability, ensuring they perform effectively under harsh downhole conditions, reducing downtime, and extending tool life. These tools are compatible with a variety of drilling equipment and can be easily integrated into existing systems, making them essential tools for drilling operations.

The HT Series Downhole Activated Hydro Thrusters do not generate vibration in non-targeted sections of the wellbore. However, once the tool reaches the target section, a ball can be deployed to activate the hydro thruster, initiating tool vibrations to accelerate drilling. This feature optimizes the tool's performance by focusing energy where it's most needed, improving drilling rate and efficiency in the targeted zones.

FSL's latest Downhole Activated Hydro Thruster retains the technical advantages of traditional Hydraulic Thrusters, while featuring a unique power structure that differentiates it from conventional models. In non-targeted sections of the wellbore, the tool remains inactive and does not generate vibration. However, once it reaches the target section, a ball can be deployed to activate the tool, initiating vibration to assist in accelerating the drilling process. This design optimizes performance by focusing energy only where needed, improving drilling efficiency in targeted zones while reducing unnecessary vibration in non-critical areas.
